I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Please take note of the following important information:

*Apr. 29 - Gr. 2 First Holy Communion Mass @ 1 pm in the Church (All our Students are expected to be here by 12:15 pm)

*Apr. 30 - Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast after all the Morning Masses

May 1
  • Holy Cross Spring Uniform is now permitted to be worn until Oct. 1, 2017.
  • Gr. 5/6/7 Track Practice @ BBY North from 3:15 to 4:15 pm
May 2
  • Gr. 6 Student Council Members attending the Holy Childhood Mass @ St. Patrick`s Church in Van. (Leaving @ 9:15 am and returning by Noon) Gr. 6 Student Council Members must be in Full Uniform.
  • Gr. 6 Boys and Girls Puberty Talk entitled, "Always Changing" from 12:50 to 1:35 pm
  • Gr. 3/4 Track Practice @ BBY North from 3:15 to 4:15 pm
May 3
  • Hot Lunch Day (Beef Hot Dogs)
  • Holy Cross 2ndSchool Wide Science Fair (Exhibitions are open to Parents from 12:45 to 2:30 pm)

  • Gr. 5/6/7 Track Practice @ BBY North from 3:15 to 4:15 pm
May 4
  • Student Council`s, "Jeans Day & Star Wars Fans Day" in support of Children`s Hospital (The Students are welcome to come to School in Jeans and they are also welcome to wear their favourite Star Wars clothing items.)
  • New Life Paraliturgy @ 9:15 am in the Church
  • Gr. 3/4 Track Practice @ BBY North from 3:15 to 4:15 pm
May 5
  • Holy Cross Gr. 3 to 7 Annual Friendship Track Meet @ Percy Perry Stadium (Town Center) in Coquitlam from 11 am to 3:30 pm. ( A Bus and the Parent Drivers will be leaving the School @ 9:45 am) Please note that this is a Rain or Shine Event, so our Students are being asked to dress appropriately for the Weather. Although we are using a Bus to get many of our Athletes to the Meet, it is important to note that the Parents are responsible for arranging transportation home from the Meet @ 3:30 pm.

*May 6 - Annual CWL Strawberry Tea in our Gymnasium

*May 19 - Holy Cross Annual Parish Golf Tournament & Dinner at Riverway Golf Course in Burnaby

*May 28 - Holy Cross School Family Picnic & Raffle on the School Grounds from 12:30 to 5 pm (Please save the date!)

Books of Raffle Tickets will be sent home today and our First EA Sports Incentive Draw will draw will take place on the Morning of May 5th. Families who have sold at least 1 booklet will be eligible. Thanks in advance for your support.

**Save the date! May 18thHoly Cross School presents, "Over 18" a Canadian Documentary focusing on the negative effects of Pornography on Youth & Children. This is a CISVA endorsed Parent Information Evening and it will take place in our Gymnasium from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Although this is open to all our Parents, at least One Parent from each of our Intermediate Families is encouraged to attend.

**With the upcoming Provincial Election on May 9th, we are kindly reminding you to do your research in relation as to where the Political Parties stand on their long term commitment to Independent School Funding.

**Congratulations to our Juvenile Girls Maroon Soccer Team and our Senior Girls Soccer Team who both won Gold Medals @ the CISVA Championship Tournaments on Apr. 25 and 26 at the Burnaby Lake Sports Complex. Also our Gr. 3 / 4 Girls and our Senior Super Eight Girls Teams, should be commended for their hard work and development throughout the Soccer Season.
